This used to be the next station north of Winton on the one-time Kingston Branch from Invercargill (see our book on the Kingston Flyer Line). This railway to here was opened in 1875 and closed a bit over a century later. A photo taken of a typical Ab class before they were replaced by Dj diesels in the late 1960s. (Chris Bradley pic)
